Thermal Insulation - Styropan XPS

Styropan XPS extruded polystyrene is an artificially made organic thermal insulating material, with a closed-cell structure which; by polymerisation and constant extrusion; takes the form of a solid foam board.

Styropan XPS is made from thermoplastic polystyrene, additives, colouring agents, flame retardants and propellant and propellant gases which are free of CFCs, HCFCs and HFC gases whilst Styropan XPS is also 100% recyclable making it very environmentally friendly.

Styropan XPS can be used in a number of different applications such as;

  • Thermal insulation of concrete elements e.g. beams, pillars, walls, concrete wall ties, wooden shuttering boards.
  • Insulation of exterior walls to prevent dampness and mildew.
  • Thermal insulation of roofs such as flat roofs, pitched roofs and tiled roofs.

Advantages

  • Styropan XPS has almost zero heat loss which translates into energy savings
  • It is extremely durable
  • Does not absorb liquids
  • Compression stability
  • Self-extinguishing properties
  • Excellent compatibility with other building materials
  • Durable and long lasting; saving the customer money and the preventing the creation of unnecessary waste
